Yigong Liu

Dr. Liu is a Professor of Law and the Director of the Canadian Studies Centre at the Lanzhou University. He was a visiting scholar at David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies (LEWI), Hong Kong Baptist University during Feb-March 2009. His research expertise is in the areas of International law, Comparative Law, Canadian legal system and Chinese legal development.

In 2009, Dr. Liu received the Special Award for Canadian Studies (SACS) from the Government of Canada. This award is presented annually to 15 Chinese scholars to undertake five weeks of research in Canada in their respective areas of study. After their return to China, SACS scholars will publish scholarly articles or books on issues of importance to Canada, or teach courses on Canada so as to further research in key areas and promote bilateral academic relations between Canada and China.
