Abstract: |
Accessing to the WTO has greatly accelerated the trade growth in China. By 2009, China has become the world’s largest exporter and the second largest importer. At the same time, China is also confronting a series of new challenges, including the expected appreciation of RMB, the export tax rebate policy adjustment, the recovery of global economic slowdown, and trade protectionism. China’s focus on foreign trade development needs to shift from export growth rate and scale to quality and efficiency. China needs to become a “trade power” in quality, rather than only a “trade power” in quantity.
