Abstract: |
Trade agreements made by democratic nations with autocratic regimes must contain a social clause to protect the rights of workers. Workers pay a heavy price when their rights are not protected and union leaders are routinely imprisoned, tortured and mudered. Speech to the International Conference on Universal Rights and Human Values, Edmonton, November 26, 1998. |
