Abstract: |
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao claimed that China didn’t approve linking human rights issues with economic and trade issues in the joint press conference after the ninth China-EU Summit. Wen Jiabao stated that the trade and economic cooperation between China and the EU is in favor of both parties. China attaches great importance to human rights, and protections of human rights as a citizen’s basic right has been written into the Constitution. He frankly admitted that China is imperfect in human rights issues, but he also pointed out it is impossible for any country to be perfect in this regard. China would continue to strengthen protections of human rights, and to communicate with and learn from the EU and other countries with regard to human rights issues. |
