Abstract: |
The three broad objectives of Canada’s foreign policy are defined as jobs and prosperity, security with a stable global framework, and promoting Canadian values and culture abroad. Global institutions, especially the United Nations, are seen as crucial to the pursuit of these objectives. And by promoting our values and culture abroad, Canada can make a special contribution to improving democracy and human rights in other countries. Speech to the National Forum on Canada’s International Relations, Toronto, September 11. |
